Hi there, and welcome to our blog. Since it seems like everyone else is creating a blog we thought perhaps we should also get with the times and create one as well. We would like to share with you our adventures on how me we moved from small town Northern Alberta Canada to the beautiful state of the Yucatan in Mexico.

When we first visited the Yucatan we fell absolutely in love with every aspect of it from the culture, the food, the cost of living, the charming people and of course beautiful warm sunny days all year round. That is all it took to convince us to take the plunge for our big move. We are now proud to call Mexico our home.

We have created this blog for you to follow our journey and to understand the life here in the Yucatan. We are also co-owners of Mayan Living Real Estate, a very successful and well respected real estate company here in the Yucatan. Please feel free to stop by our website for more information this beautiful area. Also don’t forget to add our blog to your favourites or even better become a follower so you can keep up to date on all of our new posts. We are now on TWITTER as well. Just click on the link located on the right hand side and join our adventures on there as well.

FAMILY DRIVE TO SAN CRISANTO

We do not get much free time with co-owing a business and being parents to an extremely active 3 year old however this weekend we took some time off for a family drive. We drove to see some of the local beach villages along our Gulf Coast. We travelled east from where we live in Chicxulub to San Crisanto, which is about a 3o min drive or so.

Here is a map for you to see what we are talking about.
If you are looking for a nice quiet place away from all the stresses then San Crisanto just might be what you are looking for. We just love it there. You can go have a bowl of fresh soup, or have a home cooked meal at one of the small restaurants for 2-5 dollars. The locals are so kind and warm and would invite you in anytime of the day.
Here is a pic of Chad talking to one of the locals regarding
a cute little property that we will list on our website soon.

Telchac's Pier
On our way back we stopped in Telchac, another fishing village along the coast. Telchac is about a 15 minute drive from Chicxulub and about 30 min from Progreso. This town has so much to offer. There we walked the pier and did some vender shopping. Isn’t this pier beautiful!

Here are some locals selling some homemade items. We also had lunch at our favourite restaurants of all time right not the beach called Villa Del Mar. We ordered a shrimp cocktail, soup, grilled fish with garlic, french fries (for Andrew), a soda and 2 cervesas and our bill came to $150 pesos, about $12.00. Everything is fresh and cooked for you right on the spot. There is nothing better than that! We love our family days together. Here are some more great pictures of our day! We never know who we will meet or what we will see!! Until next time
