Chicxulub is a great little fishing village just east of Progreso, and also where we reside. The town has so much to offer and has everything you need. Our expat community here is growing with quite a few Canadians who call this delightful little town home!

This map may be animated however it is an easy way for you to understand
where all the little towns are that we talk about all the time :) |
My Canadian girlfriend Ruth, (from the Vancouver area) and I spent a day out in Chicxulub and thought we would share with you some pictures from our day. Hope you enjoy!

This is the view of the ocean from our beach house in Chicxulub.
I feel so blessed every morning I wake up and see that sight. |

Also from our beach house this is one of the sunsets I captured a few days ago.
Stunning I think :) |

Here is an "everything" store in centro Chicxulub.
Nelda has everything from soup to nuts as they would say. |

Having emergency numbers always is a good thing to have on hand.
They have it posted right in the town square in English and Spanish |
|
This is a wonderful restaurant. They are open most of the time and serve local fish caught daily, plus many other great items. All their shrimp dishes are authentic and fantastic!! |
|
|
This is Chicxulub's community centre.
Sometimes all the ladies get together here to knit, craft, and even cut hair :) |
|
While most Mexicans will purchase their meats at the local market you also have the option of purchasing chicken, beef, pork ect from this air-conditioned store which displays everything almost like our Safeway’s, and Kroger’s. |

This is a bowl full of "Healing Properties" as some Mexicans say....aka Fish Soup :)
Full of seafood and fresh ingredients. A must have at any restaurant in the Yucatan if you are a seafood lover. |
|
And then their famous coconut shrimp dish. Ohhh so delish!!!! |
We had 4 beverages, Fish soup, and the Coconut Shrimp and our bill was 22 US dollars. Wow!!!!

Our son and our dog playing together in the water as the sun goes down.
How great is that!! |
